Alhaji Aliko Dangote is set to put smiles on the faces of 30,000 unemployed youths as his 17 billion-dollar refinery project is set to provide jobs to the employed in the country.
In an interview with NAN, Mr Olakunle Alake who is the chief operating officer of Dangote Industries Limited said that by the first quarter of 2019, the company would have employed Nigerians.

Alake noted that the refinery which is located in Lagos would be the single largest stream in the world.

He said: “The refinery and fertiliser projects will create job opportunities for the communities and Nigerians when it becomes operational.
“The refinery will have a refining capacity of about 650,000 barrels of crude a day.”
He noted that local refining of petrol will bring the price down and help the country to save money.
The project which also has petrochemicals and fertiliser plants is expected to help in the country’s plan for diversification.
He said that 98 per cent of basic engineering on the fertiliser plant had been executed, while the construction had progressed by 30 per cent.
“By the time we finish our gas pipeline it will be able to generate about 12,000mw which can be exported to other African countries.
“We will have the capacity to store four billion litres of products and load 2,680 trucks per day.
“The project will aid the country with about 7.5 billion dollars forex savings on importation.
“It will also generate five billion dollars forex earnings from savings and another 5.5 billion dollars export earnings.”
Alake noted that by 2019, Nigeria will be able to save five billion dollars on oil importation.
He expressed optimism in a readily available market to purchase the oil only three countries in Africa had effective and functional refineries.
“By the time we complete this project, there will be opportunity to take on agriculture and say bye to poverty because there will be jobs; no sector has more job potential than agriculture.

“Though the project is an ambitious one but when completed it will give Nigeria a new economic direction in its quest for economic diversification.’’
“That is when diversification starts.”
“We aim to complete the projects within the time frame to assist in easing the forex problem.
“We appeal to the Federal Government to support these private initiatives by providing funding for the projects.
“However, government through the Bank of Industry schemes has given us a credit facility of N50 billion to develop the fertiliser plant.
“We have also gotten another N75 billion approval for the refinery, which we have not yet accessed.”
Dangote is the highest employer of labour after the federal government and is African’s richest man.

Nigerians Are Suffering Extreme Poverty Under Buhari – Fayose
Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has said that Nigerians were suffering under the All Progressives Congress (APC) government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The governor said:-
“Presently, Nigerians are suffering, hungry and angry because the APC federal government has run the country aground,” adding that, “Nigeria has gone beyond recession, the economy has collapsed completely and painfully, those who should revive the economy do not have any clue as to what to do.”
In a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said Nigeria was experiencing the worst form of nepotism in history of governance in Nigeria, saying, “nepotism is the reason our President discarded competent people in his party that should be running the government with him and opted for his relatives, friends, in-laws and very close associates.”
“The only qualification to hold key positions in the Presidency is to know a certain nephew of the President or be a member of his family, that’s is nepotism and what nepotism breeds is incompetence.
“The most influential person in the Presidency today is said to be one Mamman Daura, who is a nephew of the President. Personal Assistant to President Buhari is said to be the son of Mamman Daura, while the State Chief of Protocol is said to be married to Mamman Daura’s daughter,”
“It is also the height of nepotism that apart from just two, all security chiefs and heads of all the paramilitary agencies in Nigeria, as well as all the political-heads overseeing all the military and paramilitary arms and agencies are from the North of Nigeria,” the governor said.
“As a leader, you don’t need to fear anything. But the moment a leader peeps into the future, realising that his lack of capacity could have consequential effects on him, such a leader will definitely resort to nepotism to protect himself.
“Also, the moment a government is unable to guarantee the existence of the people, it must resort to nepotism to protect itself and that is exactly what is being witnessed in Nigeria, especially with the lopsided appointments of security chiefs and key functionaries of the Federal Government,” he said.
“Most of those people that aided the emergence of President Buhari must be having a rethink now, but it is too late!
“Interestingly, political affiliation has nothing to do with hunger, poverty and lack.
“Exchange rate was less than N200 to $1 when President Buhari took over power, as at today, it has gone beyond N400 to $1 and Naira is still undergoing a free fall. One bag of rice was less than N8, 000 as at May 2016, it is now N20, 000. Kerosene is now beyond the reach of the masses.
“Nigerians voted for change because the APC promised them solutions to the country’s problems, but all we hear every day from the APC Federal Government are complaints upon complaints as if Nigerians elected a government of complaints.
