The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhamed Saad Abubakar in this view points out that Muslims would not accept the violation of Islamic Law guaranteeing men a greater share. Speaking in Zamfara State in The Koranic recitation ceremony The Sultan said Our religion is our total way of life, therefore we will not accept any move to change what Allah permitted us to do".

He also said that Islam is a peaceful religion, and the believers have been living peacefully with Christians and followers of other religion, and therefore they should be allowed to perform their religion effectively.
